The library was organized in 1985 by a group of concerned local citizens desirous of obtaining the benefits of a library for the residents of Worthington Borough and West Franklin Township. Since that time, the variety and quality of services to patrons has continually grown.

At present, the library collection occupies four rooms in the former Worthington Elementary School. More than 13,000 items are available to resident and non-resident patrons during the 31 hours a week that the library is open for business.

Books, videos, DVDs, magazines and audio books are available for children, teens and adults, and large print books are available. A collection of local history materials and Worthington West Franklin High School memorabilia can be enjoyed during library business hours.

Memorials & Tributes

Many celebrations and events invite us to honor a special person—birthdays, anniversaries, graduations and retirements. Give special attention to important times in the lives of the people you care about through a monetary donation toward the purchase of library material to honor a significant person or occasion. In the event of someone’s passing, you can express your sympathy and commemorate a loved one, friend or business associate through our memorial book program. An acknowledgement will be sent to the honoree or family of the deceased and to the donor for all tributes and memorials requested.
