The Ford City Public Library originally opened in two vacant rooms in the Ford City Elementary School in 1946. Because of increasing enrollment in the school, the library relocated to a retail location in the borough of Ford City in 1949.

In 1974, the borough provided the library board with a lot of land at the current location. After many years of determined fundraising and generous donations by local supporters, the library opened in its current location in 1975. The library offers a collection of approximately 40,000 catalogued items.

Memorials & Tributes

Many celebrations and events invite us to honor a special person—birthdays, anniversaries, anniversaries, graduations and retirements. Give special attention to important times in the lives of the people you care about through a monetary donation toward the purchase of library material to honor a significant person or occasion. In the event of someone’s passing, you can express your sympathy and commemorate a loved one, friend or business associate through our memorial book program. An acknowledgement will be sent to the honoree or family of the deceased and to the donor for all tributes and memorials requested.
